Weekend

We had a busy weekend with visitors. My sister, Jordan, came for a visit on Thursday. She had a lot of fun taking pictures of Jay on her phone. This was my favorite one:
She left to go to Des Moines to see our grandparents on Saturday morning. That afternoon, Jennifer, Mike, Ethan and Audrey came to visit. Jennifer and Mike held Jay while Ethan and Audrey played with various things. They especially liked being in the backyard throwing a ball around. They also volunteered to help watch Jay so I could get a haircut. They decided to go to the zoo down in Des Moines on Sunday, but we had breakfast with them before they left. Ethan told us about how he got to go swimming at the hotel.
Saturday night, we went to our friend's house for supper. We really appreciated at not having to think or cook something for supper. Of course, a storm came up really fast and we had to go home to shut windows. Of course Jay decided that he was hungry every one and a half to two hours so we were up fairly late. I'm getting use to it. Jay and I usually take a nap after breakfast...and sometimes after lunch.

2 Weeks

Today I had my 2 week post partum check up. (I can't believe it's already been two weeks!) The doctor said everything sounds fine and I can start doing some exercises including walking! It's been nice most of the time we've been home so I've been itching to get outside and walk.
Jason has been back to work, but wishes he could stay at home. He loves to hold Jay and chase Zara around the house. Not at the same time, of course. He has been riding his motorcycle to work and loving it. It's been warm enough to ride, but cool enough to wear all of his gear. Maybe he'll be able to grill this weekend making it feel more like summer.

More Pictures

While we were in the hospital, Jay had professional pictures taken.

Feel free to look at the pictures! You may also order some if you would like. I do not believe Jason and I will be buying very many, if we do at all, so don't feel pressured to get any!

Visitors

Today Grandma and Grandpa Peterson and Martha stopped by to meet Jay. He was good while they were here and even kept his eyes open. Grandma got to feed him and Grandpa told him stories. They didn't stay for very long, but I'm sure we'll go visit them soon.

Jason ran some errands today and realized how much it hurts to put gas in our Pacifica. He put more money into our tank than he did buying some supplies and groceries. We're hoping gas prices come down a little bit in Ames since the students will no longer be here after this weekend. (Gas prices like to go up when the students leave in masses.)

Zara continues being a stitch. Last night, she was playing with one of her mousie toys and was doing half somersaults down the hallway. She has been loving when we open the windows and spends quite a bit of time sunning herself on our deep freezer.

Business

So, needless to say I missed my last week of work for the semester. I had an extremely good reason! The last week has been a pretty big blur for us. Jamie had her little girl, Allegra. Jason and I went to visit some friends. I had our little boy, Jay. We've had a few visitors, and Jason has been doing a lot to help out. He has been doing a great job at making sure I get enough rest, food, water and reassurance. He even made a batch of pulled pork for us to freeze and eat over the rest of the summer.
We're going to have more visitors this weekend. Hopefully, we'll be able to get into a routine soon and I'll be able to take some time to finish my class.
