Home at Last

Jason was finally released from the hospital at 6:45 tonight. During his IV treatment at the hospital, his chest started to feel really heavy. Instead of being released after the IV, they ordered an EKG and a CT scan. Of course it took most of the afternoon for them, but better to be safe than sorry. Everything is fine, and the feeling went away when he was done with the medication. We got home close to 7 and the nurse showed up at 7:30.
The nurse showed us how to setup the IV pump since the medical people didn't do it. She showed me how to start the IV and flush it. So, that's what I'll be doing, but the at-home nurse care will change the dressing, take blood, and take his vitals once a week. Jason goes to the doctor Thursday morning, so maybe he'll be done with the IV by then.
We're very grateful that our insurance will cover the home care and for the nurse teaching me how to setup the IV. Things will be nicer since Jason is home. It will be tough since he needs his IV's at 4am, noon, and 8pm, but he's home. Thank you for all the support and prayers. They are much appreciated.
